MINISTRY OF TOURISM HOSTS ARGENTINIAN DELEGATION FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR
The Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries will be hosting a delegation from the Argentinean Ministry of Tourism for the second consecutive year. The three member team will be in Saint Lucia from Wednesday 26th – Saturday 29th November, 2014. While on island, the representatives are scheduled to meet with Minister for Tourism Hon. Lorne Theophilus, Maritime Consultant Mr. Cuthbert Didier as well as Permanent Secretary and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, to discuss the progress on the International Bi-lateral Co-operation Project between Saint Lucia and Argentina.
As part of the project, the Argentinean Ministry of Tourism will be offering a series of Online Training Programs to individuals within the maritime sector as well as those from other tourism sub-sectors both public and private. The e-learning courses being offered are Introduction to On-Line Marketing, Environmental Management in Tourism and Quality in Tourist Service Management
A number of industry partners as well as private sector organizations were invited to register persons for the various courses, including the St. Lucia Tourist Board, St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association, Invest St. Lucia, IGY Rodney Bay Marina.
The delegation is scheduled to officially introduce the programme to persons who have registered on Friday November 28th, 2014 from 9:00am to 4:30pm on the 7th Floor, Conference Room, Department of Planning and National Development, Waterfront. The Ministry of Tourism, Heritage and Creative Industries welcomes yet another initiative and recognizes its importance in providing training in key areas which would contribute to a higher level of efficiency for persons employed directly and indirectly in the tourism sector.
