Meeting of
OECS Business Council

SLHTA’s EVP attended a meeting of the OECS Business Council, Chaired by the Hon. Sir. K. Dwight Venner, Governor, ECCB, yesterday at the Bay Gardens Inn.  The meeting was attended by a number of other Private and Public Sector representatives.  In his address the Governor urged attendees to collaborate more effectively in strengthening Private Sector institutions to transform their working relationship with the Public Sector.  He indicated that the economic challenges facing the OECS has revealed major vulnerabilities in their economies which can only be addressed through a more organized and competitive private sector and better regulatory framework managed by the public sector.
Hon. Emma Hippolyte, Minister for Commerce, Business Development, Investment and Consumer Affairs presented the opening remarks urging representatives to place the national interest ahead of sector interests, particularly given the challenges of high unemployment, non performing loan portfolios and challenges with access to loans and credit facilities.
The meeting also  received a presentation on the importance of statistics and the crucial need for the private sector to participate in surveys critical to guiding policy development and implementation.  Ms. Lilian Piper, President of the OECS Business Council also presented on the framework of the OECS Business Council.  Ms. Piper highlighted many similar challenges faced by various sectors and urges collaboration in finding solutions.

Outstanding Employee Profile:
Lisa Greenidge
The Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association (SLHTA) joins Sea Spray Cruises in Congratulating  and acknowledging the outstanding dedication and commitment of Lisa Greenidge.
Lisa is a very hardworking employee who is dedicated to ensuring our guests have the time of their lives on all our Tours! This vibrant young lady grew up in the community of Rockhall, Castries. Lisa has been exposed to the Tourism Industry for 7 years now.  She is 32 years old and has been employed with the company for 3 years.
An amazing hostess, that’s according to some of the comments on Trip Advisor and we are proud to have her on the Sea Spray team.  We hope that she continues to make a name for herself and make her family proud.
Below is part of a review we had on tripadvisor complementing Lisa. This is one of many positive reviews complementing Lisa’s hard work –
“…Lisa has got the magic touch with keeping the tourists up and dancing, and ensuring all had a nice cold drink in hand at all times. By the time we pulled back into Rodney Bay, the entire boat was smiling from ear to ear. Highly recommended!!!!…”
“…Next stop was the Coubaril Plantation for a tour and enjoyable two-course lunch before returning to the catamaran where an amazing young lady called Lisa joined the crew. She was the perfect hostess, making sure everyone was ok and had a drink while they listened to the music or danced…”
Our employees made Sea Spray Cruises successful“…Corey Devaux
