Clarification and Reassurance following US Embassy’s Advisory
(Saint Lucia Tourism Authority)- Further to the February 4, 2026, advisory published on the U.S. Embassy’s website regarding Ladera Resort, the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority (SLTA) wishes to provide clarity and reassurance.
The incident referenced formed part of a limited series of robberies that occurred within a specific timeframe and location in the southwestern region of the island during the latter part of 2025.
These matters have since been addressed and brought under control. In response, a series of tourism stakeholder meetings were convened beginning December 2025, and enhanced security measures have been implemented in the affected area.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has treated the situation with the highest priority and has been actively investigating the incidents, including making arrests and preferring charges.
Since these actions were taken, there has been no known further disruption to the overall visitor experience, and tourism operations continue without interruption.
Saint Lucia remains a safe and welcoming destination, where the safety and well-being of both our residents and visitors are of paramount importance.
We continue to work closely with national authorities and valued tourism partners to ensure that appropriate measures are consistently upheld, allowing visitors and residents to enjoy the island with confidence and peace of mind.
