SLHTA mourns the loss of Lorine Charles-St. Jules
(Castries, Saint Lucia – November 15th 2024)- The Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association (SLHTA) is deeply saddened by the passing of Lorine Charles-St. Jules, a dedicated and invaluable contributor to Saint Lucia’s tourism and hospitality industry.
Charles-St. Jules’ stellar career spanned over two decades, having worked with the Ministry of Tourism, the Saint Lucia Tourist Board and the Anguilla Tourist Board. She was the founder and CEO of the marketing and consultancy firm PEAYE7 Marketing International, and also guided future hospitality professionals as an Adjunct Lecturer.
Most recently, she adeptly led the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority as Chief Executive Officer from 2022-2024. During this time, she also served as an SLHTA Director, offering guidance and steadfast support to the Association.
Acting SLHTA President, Erwin Louisy, said: “On behalf of the Board of Directors, Management and Staff of the SLHTA, I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Lorine’s family, friends and the entire tourism fraternity. Lorine was a trailblazer in our industry, driving the advancement of Caribbean tourism with unwavering passion and commitment. I had the privilege of working alongside her during her long and outstanding career including her tenure on the SLHTA Board. I will always remember her wisdom, commitment, infectious optimism and warm, welcoming smile. Saint Lucia has indeed lost a beautiful soul. May she rest in peace.”
