SLHTA Participates in Productivity Study
The Government of Saint Lucia through the National Competitiveness and Productivity Council (NCPC) is currently undertaking a study to assess the levels of productivity in Saint Lucia in six key sectors of the economy namely manufacturing, construction, tourism, education, agriculture and financial services. The objectives of the study are to:
1. Measure productivity levels in the economy
2. Analyze the underlying reasons for the current levels of productivity an d
3. Propose key policy actions/recommendations that will improve productivity levels
Members of the Saint Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association Inc. participated in the sector consultation on Tourism and Hospitality on April 28th, 2014.
The Technical Secretariat of the NCPC and the consultants met with SLHTA representatives from the Food and Beverage Sector, Banking Sector, Destination Management Companies, Education Institutions, Small Hotels Sector and others.
The Productivity Study, which is expected to be released later this year, will be circulated to the wider membership.
