SLHTA congratulates Olympic Champion Julien Alfred!

(CASTRIES, Saint Lucia – Saturday 3rd August 2024)- The Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association (SLHTA) congratulates Julien Alfred on winning gold in the Women’s 100m at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Alfred, 23, clinched the gold medal with an impressive time of 10.72, marking Saint Lucia’s first-ever Olympic medal. The University of Texas alumna outpaced other stars including America’s Sha’Carri Richardson, Melissa Jefferson and the United Kingdom’s Daryll Neita.

Through hard work and determination, she has reached the top of her field, and inspired an entire nation. Her dedication to her craft, and her ability to overcome challenges exemplify the spirit of excellence that we should all strive for. She is truly a testament to what can be achieved with passion and perseverance. What’s even more exciting is that her career is still only just beginning. I look forward to what she accomplishes next!”

The sprint sensation turned pro just a year ago, and has her sights set on making more history for Saint Lucia.
