Sandals Team Members pioneer a return to Saint Lucian Creole Cultural Pageantry

(Sandals Resorts)- Team members of Sandals Grande Saint Lucian Spa and Beach Resort brought 2025 to a memorable close with the eagerly anticipated resurgence of Creole Pageantry through the Misyé èk Manmzèl Kwéyòl (Mister and Miss Creole) competition.

The return of the show, which had been put on hold after the impact of COVID-19 proved to be an event to remember. Celebrations ran throughout the last quarter of the year and ended with a dazzling pageant where contestants vied for the title of Mister and Miss Creole.

The lead up to the competition at Sandals Grande was a hotbed of cultural activity, as committees were formed, plans were drawn up, seminars and workshops held and designs fussed over, as nine gallant team members put themselves forward to compete for the coveted title.

They included Gania Alladhua (restaurants), Kayde Altenor (bars), Albert Charlemagne (landscaping), Eva Alfred (restaurants), Chelsea Joseph (restaurant – Sandals Golf & Country Club), Jasmine Nelson (housekeeping), Cassius Constantine (entertainment), Roché St Cyr (front desk) and Abigail Lesfloris (club Sandals).

The competition was fierce, and all eyes were on Cassius Constantine, who entered as the Mr. Caribbean Island Continental 2024 winner. While he was no stranger to this type of event, one could say he had the most on the line. In the end, there could be only two champions. And as expected, Cassius lived up to the hype, and along with Roché St. Cyr, copped the title of Misyé èk Manmzèl Kwéyòl (Mister and Miss Creole) 2025.

“As the reigning Mr. Caribbean Island Continental 2024, it was a pleasure to participate in our local resort pageant. I went in to have fun and I did. But it was even better when I heard the crowd’s response to me, and then to actually win. It was great!” This from the proud winner of the Mr. Kwéyòl 2025 Competition.

And from the winner of the Ms. Kwéyòl 2025 Competition, “going into the pageant I thought I had a strong talent, but on the night of the show when I saw what the other contestants brought to the stage, I was like wow they are all so good. You can imagine how I felt when I heard my name as the winner for 2025. After all the hours and days and weeks of preparing, it was finally over, and I had won.”

Della John, general manager (GM) of the resort in expressing her thoughts said “this was my first pageant as GM and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It brought a vibe to the resort and it was truly heart-warming to see how the team was able to pull through, with all of them performing at their full time jobs. They set the bar really high for the next event! I congratulate the organizers, the participants and the audience for making the show a powerful success.”
