
Saint Lucia Strengthens Hyperbaric Medicine Expertise Through International Course
The St. Lucia Hyperbaric Society Inc. is proud to announce its participation in a prestigious two-week Hyperbaric Medicine Training Course, currently being hosted by Divers Alert Network (DAN). This internationally recognized training, taking place from May 18th to May 30th, 2025 brings together physicians, divers, and hyperbaric chamber personnel from around the world.
The training’s primary objective is to deepen understanding and expertise in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diving-related injuries and hyperbaric medicine conditions. With daily morning lectures and afternoon practical diving sessions, participants benefit from a robust combination of theory and real-world application.
Highlights from the training include:
- Gas Toxicities and Barotrauma in Divers
- Decompression Illness: Pathophysiology and Treatment
- Chamber Operations and Safety Protocols
- Marine Life Injuries and Emergency Preparedness
- Advances in Technical and Saturation Diving
- Case Studies and Research Updates
Afternoons are dedicated to supervised two-tank diving allowing participants to reinforce learning in realistic dive environments.
