National Culinary Team Serves Up Healthy Saint Lucian Cuisine
For the second consecutive year, the Healthy Food Fair brought healthy eating, wellness and local culinary talent to Derek Walcott Square on Wednesday, 24th June 2026, as part of the 10th Anniversary Sneaker Day celebrations.
The event, hosted by the National Insurance Corporation, formed part of its ongoing efforts to promote healthy eating, active lifestyles and the fight against non-communicable diseases. It also featured live cooking demos, interactive stations and free health screenings.
Patrons enjoyed a variety of nutritious and flavourful dishes prepared by the award-winning Saint Lucia National Culinary Team, whose healthy and mouthwatering menu showcased the creativity and versatility of local cuisine.
The participating chefs included Neville Joseph (Anse Chastanet), Hermanus Gill (Anse Chastanet), Damisa William (Bay Gardens Resorts), Davidson Henry (Bay Gardens Resorts), Jamal Charley (BodyHoliday), Pearkela Avril (Cap Maison Resort & Spa), Khapel Gee Alcee (Ladera Resort), Shermal Victorin (Jade Mountain),Elissa Alcee (StolenTime) , Vernance Dore (Windjammer Landing Resort & Residences) and Vernette Marius (Windjammer Landing Resort & Residences).
The SLHTA extends sincere thanks to the Management Team comprising Manager Fabian Vigee, SLHTA Director and Culinary Committee Chair Wadi Zakhour, Consultant Chef Eike Lauff, Bar Team Manager Alva Preville, Chef Elijah Jules, Pastry Chef Emmany Hippolyte, Chef Sebastian Fabian Francis and Project Coordinator Juliet Sutherland for their leadership and support.
