SLHTA Mobilizes over $100,000 in Supplies for Hurricane Beryl Relief Efforts

(CASTRIES, Saint Lucia – Wednesday 17th July 2024)- This week the Saint Lucia Hospitality and Tourism Association (SLHTA) will donate over EC $100,000 in supplies to Grenada and St. Vincent & the Grenadines to aid in Hurricane Beryl relief efforts.

Following the passage of the hurricane, the SLHTA immediately activated its Disaster Relief Committee and engaged sister agencies —the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association, the St. Vincent & The Grenadines Hotel & Tourism Association and the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association —to coordinate efforts to deliver critical supplies to affected families and communities.

A supply drive was held from July 4th-12th with SLHTA member companies and private citizens contributing hygiene supplies, non-perishable food items, paediatrics supplies, water, beverages, clothing and linen.

The supplies will be chartered by boat to Mayreau, Carriacou, Petit Martinique, Union Island and Grenada, commencing Thursday, July 18th.  The supplies will be shipped courtesy of IGY Rodney Bay Marina, McNamara & Co and SunSwept Resorts.
